Between Microsoft Surface and infrared keyboards we know for quite a while (as geek tools ), Microsoft Research is presenting a new project based on the same surface interaction, but as retro-projected on a table for example, named Mobile Surface.

For this one the device would be capable to interact a bit the  same as Microsoft Surface: the user wull be able to manipulate objects with multitouch gestures.

This is another project in the same area of these new natural interfaces (NUI), like the Courier tablet or Project Natal for xBox 360, as for the last one there is going to be a commercial outcome.
